Alert System Overview

The E911 Authority Board has entered into a new contract with Everbridge to provide an alerting platform for CRCA911 and their emergency service agencies.  The previous service provided by Intrado, and advertised as Alert Fremont will expire on January 29, 2021.

The E 9-1-1 Authority Board has upgraded the Alert Fremont Emergency Notification (911 alert calls) service to Frecom911 Alert. This upgrade will improve and expand the use of Emergency Notification services across both Fremont and Custer counties - all agencies and jurisdictions served by Frecom911. One significant benefit of Frecom911 Alert is the ability of the residents of Fremont and Custer Counties to sign up their wireless (cell) phone numbers (for any or all members of your household), Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) phone numbers, business phones, email addresses and text messages to the notification service. That means if an Frecom911 Alert message was launched in your area, the message would be delivered to the devices of your choice. There is no additional charge to sign up all your devices for Frecom911 Alert. The security of your wireless numbers in this data base is a priority. Your security concerns and many other frequently asked questions are answered by visiting Frecom911 Alert FAQ’s page.

Even if you previously registered for Alert Fremont, you will need to begin a new registration with Frecom911 Alert to receive notifications. To do this click on Emergency Wireless Registration.

If you need assistance registering, please call (719) 276-7421 and leave a message.  A trained volunteer from the Fremont County Office of Emergency Management will contact you and be able to assist you.

Frecom911 emergency dispatchers along with officials from the various public safety agencies in the county will have immediate internet access to launch emergency messages countywide - for both Fremont and Custer, in specific neighborhoods, or to targeted groups of emergency providers.

The Fremont County Emergency Telephone Authority was established in 1989 to provide and administer emergency (911) service to Fremont County. The board of directors is comprised of five members; Fremont County Commissioner Debbie Bell; Calvin Sunderman, the representative of special districts and public agencies; Tom McCormick, the representative of Florence ; John Hamrick, the representative of the Canon City; and Randy Lesher, Chair, the at-large member elected by the other four.

Administration and questions regarding Frecom911 Alert (other than registration assistance as indicated above) may be directed to Frecom911 Executive Director Bill Duggan, (719) 792-6411, or email at everbridge@frecom911.com.
